Clarinet virtuoso Quinton (we do not use a student's last name on our website) has just completed his first college year. Quinton is a protegee of GCSO musician Sandra Dillon, Gary's famed Roosevelt High School band director. In 2005, at our 21st annual Children's Concerts in Gary, Quinton was the soloist - and was he SUPERB! Good luck to you, young man.

Future Gary Civic Symphony youth musician, D'Angelo (we do not use a student's last name on our website), performs for children in our "Free Saturday School for the Arts", the same program he joined and learned to love the violin under the tutelage of Mrs. Kimani and Mr. Jackson.

Play on, young man.

Each year, GCSO features youth musicians in a number of ways: (1) As student soloists during our annual Children's Concert,  (2) As symphony musicians who sit beside seasoned musicians and learn to become "role models" for the smaller children at the Children's Concert,  (3) As musicians, playing with one of our string or wind ensembles, or playing at a program recital.  Our Sponsor - The Gary Historical & Cultural Society - also hires youth musicians as tutors who work along-side teachers in our youth programs.

Sponsors are always welcomed to help support our many youth programs.  Please contact GCSO.
